Each artist will be represented by 1 or 2 images. The attendees choose an image and tee shirt color, size, and the placement of the image (front, back, side to side). Participants will witness live art as the process of making the tees is conducted on site. There will also to special orders available to have the image embroidered. Robyn Crecelius, founder of Oh So Cheeky Boutique, is spending days and nights sewing and embroidering shirts, blankets and baby bibs in order to provide security for her family.“I had been a stay-at-home mom for a few years but I needed to go back to work in order to provide more financial support for the family. However, this economy isn’t the best time to find a job,” said Crecelius. With her past experience in pharmaceutical sales, she networked with her old co-workers and supervisor in order to explore her options. As she researched jobs in the pharmaceutical industry, she consistently read reports on how the industry was hurting and sales reps were losing their jobs. After a sales job came through for her, it was pulled away just as quickly due to a hiring freeze. “It was disheartening. The thing I know how to do best is sell and I was ready to get back to being a sales rep. But it wasn’t in the cards.”Crecelius decided to refocus on what she really wanted to do. And staying home with her two young children was important to her so a business out of her home was the best option. “I had always wanted to sew and embroider children’s clothing but I had no idea how to do it. So I decided to take classes and buy a sewing machine.”After a few months of learning how to sew and putting her creative expertise into her designs, Crecelius launched her own business Oh So Cheeky Boutique, an online children’s boutique selling embroidered and appliquéd children’s clothing and baby accessories. “I’m glad I took the leap to start my own business. There’s no better time than now to start a new business,” said Crecelius. “Given the economy, I’m glad that I’m able to run a successful business and provide for my family without working out of the home. After a few months, I’m already doing very well.”
